Khulisa appoints Dami Solebo as new Deputy Chair

We’re honoured to have appointed Dami Solebo as our new Deputy Chair of our Board of Trustees. Dami will be working closely with our Chair of the board, Jean-Marc Morel, to ensure the smooth running of the charity. Dami, first joined the board in Jan 2021 with a clear intention to bring the voices of the work people we work with into our governance.

Dami has years of experience helping young people at risk of involvement in crime. Outside of his role in Khulisa, he is the CEO of ClementJames Centre, an organisation which helps people in North Kensington to reach their full potential, by providing support with education, employment and wellbeing support.

He previously worked for Finding Rhythms, an organisation delivering music based engagement, supporting prisoners and young people at risk of offending.

Dami is passionate about increasing social mobility opportunities through education to create a level playing field for the marginalised and disadvantaged.

“Khulisa is an organisation that puts the wellbeing and personal development of young people above all else, through a commitment to inclusivity, amplifying voices underpinned by a strong evidence base. I'm looking forward to helping the organisation in its next steps as its work has never been more needed.”
