Khulisa take the stage at The School Inclusion Project’s first quarterly session of 2025

On Wednesday 12th March, our own Briony Elliott (Senior Programme Manager) represented Khulisa at the School Inclusion Project’s first quarterly session of the year, hosted by Garden Court Chambers. These sessions bring together frontline organisations, policy experts, and legal practitioners to tackle the big issues around discrimination in education.

Briony had the chance to share how our therapeutic programmes get to the root causes of behaviour that often leads to school exclusionand how this method is helping rebuild young people’s relationships with education. She also covered the importance of supporting the parents and carers of children affected by trauma, and how our new Nurturing Connections programme aims to do this.

We were also joined by insightful presentations from Mind, Garden Court Chambers, Corum Children’s Legal Centre, and The Traveller Movement. It was incredible to see so many advocates in one room, all working toward creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for young people.

We’re proud to continue partnering with the School Inclusion Project to push for systemic change and ensure that every young person has the chance to succeed in education – no matter their background.
