Face It
Face It is Khulisa’s flagship programme for young people to explore the root causes of their emotional distress, designed for pupils in schools and Pupil Referral Units.
Face It is an intensive therapeutic programme developed to support the wellbeing and social and emotional skills of young people with complex needs. We work with disadvantaged young people (aged 11-16) who are at risk of exclusion or involvement in the criminal justice system. The programme is delivered using a mixture of group activities and 1-to-1 reflection sessions, covering 10 core modules to first raise self-awareness, and then build wellbeing interactively through creative techniques like storytelling, art, debating, and role-play.
Supported by the latest developments in neuroscience, our Face It programme enables young people to better understand their responses to stress and conflict, build confidence and motivation. We target positive changes in the following four areas: emotional self-regulation; social skills, resilience, social and emotional wellbeing.
Our qualified therapists provide them with sustained 1 to 1 and group support to help young people make sense of their thoughts and feelings in a safe and nurturing environment all with the aim of helping them improve their wellbeing. We know doing this effectively takes time. That is why we prioritise depth of impact when working with young people with the most complex needs.
"This programme is very good and should be a regular thing in schools. I'm very lucky to participate." - Face It Participant
